Oh wow, and I've just noticed it has the ONLY photographic evidence I've ever seen of the Working Men's Club (the wall to the right). If only it was still there, the town looked so much more spacious and pleasant. This photo is Brilliant! Just BRILLIANT.

And of course the old Queen's Hall and Midland Bank is there, and I can see "Williams" on the corner of Botwell Lane, a shop that seemed to be forever changing its name. At one point, half of it was called Merit. I think after being Williams it became Budgens for a while too.

That Ford Cortina Estate with the woodwork which has just entered the right hand side of the picture: I knew a couple who had one of those.... who knows, that might even be them!
