Definitely looks like a time capsule being buried. The Webmaster recognises the chap kneeling with glasses, Mick - a former caretaker whose done some work round my house recently!! I shall have to ring him up and ask when this was taken. (33255640)

Hi there Ive just seen the pictures of the time capsule burial and its me standing there in the blue skirt. Im Claire Steward and work as a teaching assistant in the infant school.(Actually still working there) The men kneeling in front of me (I love men at my feet ! haha) are the caretakers. As you suggest one is Mick (officially titled site maintanence) the other on is Cuthbert Anderson the caretaker at the time. The gentleman holding the ceremonial spade is my dad! He was involved as a guest at the burial party because he attended the school himself when it opened in the 30's. The time capsule was part of the schools 60th anniversary celebrations in 1995. This year marks the schools 70th ann.

Hi Claire, Many many thanks for that valuable contribution. I'm glad you're looking in because we are desperately keen to make the box of old pictures the infant school has available in these albums. So many people would like to see them. If there is anything you can do to help us borrow these for scanning, we'd be very, very grateful indeed. It's pricless material which really does deserve a wider audience among those scattered around the UK and the world who remember with great fondness their days at Grange Park. Many people on our message board have recollections of things like their nursery aprons and afternoon naps and there are pictures of these... who knows, some people might even recognise themselves in the pictures. And if I recall correctly, there are also fascinating pix of a time when the BBC took an interest in the school. Would you be able to help us out with this?

Hi again. Really sorry to be so long in replying but I havent been up the website again till now (sorry) I do have other pictures of my own and can borrow more from the school. At the moment Im on the school computer but you can contact me on my home email address clairesteward@madasafish.com. I was amazed to see a picture I had put onto another website suddenly appear on this one! Its a weird feeling to log onto a site and find yourself already there !! haha (this was a picture of Hayes and Harlington Station in 1967 with a party of school children on the station - me at the back)
