This photo is of a Parade float, obviously put together by Fairey Aviation in 1952. I don't know what the event was all about, but my Dad, Bill Bishop, worked at Fairey Aviation and he must have been very proud to see it go by. I believe it was taken on Station Road across the road from the Post Office.
