Thankyou, Brian, for this photo which shows Brian Trant a few years before I knew him. I can recognise some girls faces although, when I went to Mellow Lane, they were seniors. So far, I have picked out a very young looking Jennifer Austin and Jill Glazebrook. I should think it was easier breathing where you are standing, Brian, as it all looks rather crowded towards the middle. :-) A terrific photo.

Thanks for the comment, yes I can imagine the crush in the middle, of course back then we were not allowed to mix the genders but again back then most of us were not that interested; or maybe it was just me!
When my family looked at this photograph they could not believe that I was ever in a choir and I explain that is was a scive to get out of rugby or the science lessons both of which I hated. Changed a lot now of course, favourite subjects are the South African War, watching rugby, fishing, painting. Of course here in South Africa one is more inclined to the outdoor pursuits.

I was so naiive that it had never occurred to me that there were other reasons for being in the choir. David Humber has said that another reason was that the boys just fancied the girls in the choir! :-) When I was in the choir, the boys joined us mainly for the Christmas concert. One recording is in the Mellow Lane section here if you haven't noticed it. I once lived in Tudor Road when I was first married. Ihave also looked at some of the website and am going back for a read later as it looks very interesting. Thankyou. Marian.
