Most people from Cranford Drive and the surrounding area went to church here. This picture brings back memories of baskets of fruit and bunches of flowers all set out along the front for Harvest Festival and the joyous singing of the hymn 'We Plough the Fields and Scatter'. There was also the Nativity play at Christmas with children from Cranford Park area, including myself and my sister. We went to Sunday School classes at Cranford Park School also. I remember winning a prize for memorizing parts of the bible. The bible was my Father's from when he was a child, and so I think that inspired me. The pictures show how beautiful the church is and why momories of going there as a child are still very clear.

Have not come across a picture of the font as yet, know exactly where it is just inside the door down the step and to the right.

I remember the font just where you say. I remember now, though, that it was my youngest son, only, who was christened there, and my other son and daughter were christened at St Jerome's near Dawley. I'm sorry about the mistake. :-)
