Thanks, as ever, for yet another stunning batch of pictures. Are you able to put an approximate date on this one and do you have any idea where it might have been taken?

Minnie had two sons who went to Cranford Park and Mellow Lane. They lived in the prefabs at Cranford Drive. I used to go there after school sometimes and I remember the most delicious, golden chips she used to make and serve up before I went home.
I felt that she treated me like a daughter and so this picture is very special, seeing her as a little girl.

As for the date, Minnie was born in 1912 and she looks about 4/5 so would be around 1916 ? and like similar family photos it was taken at the Charlesworth Studio, Southall

I certainly like this photo very much. Within that little girl, there, lies a heart of gold. I could never forget how kind she was, shown to me even when we met again years later. Sadly, she was ill and going to hospital on some occasions when I met her. She always made time to stop and chat and showed concern for others too.

As a matter of interest for you Marian, I only really knew Dorothy Edith who we knew as aunt Ede, she lived just along the road from us in West Ave.She married Joe Smith. I have loads of photos of her family which came from her daughter Kath's album via her son Gerald. Kath is married to Alf Langley former Mayor of Hillingdon. As for uncle Eric Sceeny he was a familiar face in Hayes if you look through my album you will see a photo of him in later years, he was newspaper seller at Hayes Station, and was very distinctive with his 'club foot'. Sadly he ended up destitute and was often seen rummiging around for cigareete ends, he died in 1972. Now if you look on Phil Sherwood's photos you will see one he put on from my original of 1st Dawley Girl Guides, Alice is on it.
