That's a deeply interesting article. Sounds the very opposite of the situation which developed within a few years, with schools and pupils on the continent specialising from 11 while here, it was comprehensives all round.

I'm pleased that you find this article interesting. I hope others who are interested in past education will see this, and also the other press articles I have posted with pictures about Mellow Lane. I'm just very sorry that the paper looks so yellow now. Hope it doesn't put people off reading them because they do seem to be quite informative.
