In the foreground I can see a Ford Anglia 'situp'n'beg'at the end of the track. At the end of the middle track nearest us is a Ford 100E. 2 cars to the right is an Austin A30 and the 2nd car up on the right hand row is a Ford Zephyr 6. If the picture was a bit larger I could identify a lot more.

Manhy thanks for that David... however, that's really what I'd call a "crop" of the original piccy. What I was hoping for was a scan of just that area at a much higher resolution, so we can take a close-up look at it.

I didn't think I had really succeeded even though I thought I had enlarged on the original scan. If anyone can tell me how to enlarge I'd appreciate it. I use an HP F380 3 in 1 scanner and printer.Well done The Jester for spotting as much as you did.

Hi David. To enlarge you'll need to rescan on Irfanview. First do a preview of the picture and crop to the area you want using the 'corners'. Next go to 'adjust the quality ....' and set the DPI to 1200 then scan. Your picture will probably come up massive but you can adjust it down,(or up) using the tool bar. Go to image 'resize/resample' when you click on you can adjust the picture size by changing either height or width, change one and the other will adjust automatically. When you have got the size you want just save to file.

Thanks for that. Jester, but sadly I don't have the software you mention or any other that will enable me to do a close up. Sorry.

I was about to say.... you don't need any special software (though I'm a great fan of Irfanview!) Just use your usual scanning software, but set the resultion higher... but I see you've done that and reposted. Many thanks.
