Wow! Thats my Mum! I wondered if you could tell me where this picture is from? Mum (Fay) and Auntie Hilly are celebrating a very special birthday soon and Mum does not have any pictures of this very special time in her life I am researching how to get some! Thank you!

Hello to you, Harriet. It was a great surprise and given me a lot of pleasure that you have seen this lovely picture of your Mum and Aunt. They were popular Head-girls at Mellow Lane when I was in the first year. The picture could have appeared in Woman's Own magazine or Woman, perhaps. My sister put the picture in her Mellow Lane scrapbook and she recently passed it on to me. On checking, there is another picture of your Aunt Hilary, but sadly, no more of your Mum. Would you like to see it anyway? All Best Wishes from Marian.

It would be great to see it! Thank you! It is great to see Mum like this, we've heard all the stories. My older sister does have this photo on her mantlepiece, but it's only of Mum so we hadn't even seen Auntie Hilly on it and there was no clue as to where it had come from!

I wil post the picture here soon. It is a newspaper cutting so will look rather discoloured, I'm afraid. What you say about the photo of the twins is quite intriguing, especially that you didn't know the origin of the picture. Did you know it was an advert? All Best Wishes from Marian.

Actually this version is a tad better, after taking out a few more specks & blemishes.

I remember your Mum & her sister too Harriet! (I was in the same year as Marian.)
I seem to remember they had a younger brother?

Yes Uncle Terry is younger than them, not sure how many years off the top of my head! They must have been ever so popular for so many people to recognise them! My husband is keen to replicate this photo as they are today! I think lots of people would like that!

Your Mum must be about 4/5 years older than Terry as I know he was about my age.
I went to one of his birthday parties before going to Mellow Lane!
Didn't they live in Tudor Rd, or could it have been Bishops Rd?

Mum does talk about Bishops Road so I think thats where it must have been. Uncle Terry lives in Devon now, he has seven children. I think he's kept busy!!!!

Hello again, Harriet. I think that you may have missed seeing the picture I posted of your Auntie Hillary. If so, I have moved it today into the Mellow Lane category instead of Latest Additions. Hope you like the picture.

I hope the birthday is a really happy one and I think it is a great idea for your husband to replicate the photo as Fay and Hillary are today. I will try to post the rest of the pictures of the dancing display for when your Mum looks in. She may recognise some of her friends on them.
