This is the layout of the proposed factory site, taken from the agreement between Ernest William Shackle, the Vendor, John Mechi Crosley, the Mortgagee, and the Orchestrelle Company, the Purchasers, and dated 26th October 1908.

A kind librarian at Unilevers in the 1970s photocopied it and coloured it in. The pink area is the land purchased, and you can see the Grand Junction Canal and the Great Western Railway, both on the south side.

Shackle's Dock is at the western point of the factory site, and you can just see the thin lines of the bridge which took the towpath over its entrance.

Many thanks for this! Didn't even know that little bridge and dock existed.
