Beggars can't be choosers, and photographers can't prevent honest working men (or women) from parking their cars right in the middle of their intended picture. It's a good reason to go back to Silverdale Road!
Note the diamond lozenge design, repeated on the 1909 date tablet in the next picture. Apparently HMV buried a "time capsule" when they built their Hayes factory, and I have often wondered whether Aeolian might have done the same. It will be the centenary of this building in two years' time - might the Mayor be interested in a bit of digging?
