(see this users gallery) The perspective is not as good in this drawing as in the 1920 view, but at least the artist has included the semi-circular windows, and on the correct floor of the Universal factory at the left.
The only differences I can see in the buildings between 1920 and 1922 are that a small single-storey extension has been erected in front of the small building in the foreground at the left, and a tower has been built at the north-east (closest) corner of the Universal building, joining it to the single-storey master roll storage room adjoining.
As well as providing sheltered access to the master rolls, the new tower housed a roll printing machine. A roll and its associated word stencil were pulled up and over a roller at the top of the tower, where text and other details were printed. |
