Hallo everyone, what an amazing trip down memory lane this is,I left Townfield is 1959,but im surprised to see you mention so many of the names that I also remember so well,Mr.Bartholemew Maths,Donkey or Dynamite Davies,(in the picture),RI Lewis, known as Screwy Lewey,PE Lewis,Mr.Evans Woodwork,British Staunton,I had heard the he was a war hero,I think he was a pilot, thats how got his name.Mr.Marsh English, and Mr.Taylor with his pipe, art,
many of these teachers must have stayed at Townfield for many years before being carried off to the funny farm,
I also remember Lakes sweetshop in East avenue, also Pollys sweetshop in Coldharbour lane, and of course the Toy shop that became Cains.all these names bring back such memories after being forgotten for 50 years !
keep up the good work guys !
best wishes dave.
