HAS WEYMOUTH & PORTLAND COUNCIL GONE STARK-RAVING BONKERS?
If your idea of a holiday is escaping the madness of city life, give Weymouth a miss. They won't even let you park near the beach for longer than FOUR hours - and you'll pay through the nose for every moment of it.
THE COUNCILLORS RESPONSIBLE FOR TERRORISING THEIR LOCAL PEOPLE LIKE THIS, AND FOR TERRORISING HOLIDAYMAKERS LIKE THIS SHOULD HANG THEIR HEADS IN SHAME. YOU ARE A DISGRACE.
What if they decide to go for a walk, and perhaps stop for a coffee? Are they supposed to pay the maximum amount when they park just in case? And what if they then decide not to stay at one location so long, and go somewhere else... they've already paid you a hefty whack, but now they'll have to pay all over again. WHAT KIND OF A HOLIDAY IS THAT?
What about local people who already pay enough in council tax? Why should people attending church on a quiet Sunday evening have to pay to park in the streets their council tax has already paid for? What if the sermon goes on a bit and they get fined? What kind of a life is that you've cooked up for YOUR LOCAL VOTERS? Was that in your manifesto? Did you promise, once elected, to terrorise them and rip them off?

If you want a holiday in Weymouth, beware. The council has gone mad and decided to rip you off every moment of your stay. They've imposed 24 hour, seven days a week parking charges.
Could the councillors please answer these questions: why on earth should people on holiday have to decide beforehand how long they intend to stay at any particular place?
