The old Forum which sadly disappeared had an enquiry from someone wanting Vacuum brake hose for a Reliance. I am in need of the same thing. 1" or 25mm id. hose for the pipework near the main servo.
Gates are the main suppliers to the trade, but their range stops at 7/8" id. I have trawled the internet, coming up with one company advertising silicone vacuum hose, however when I tested this product on arrival, it collapses at approximately 15"hg. so is entirely unsuitable. Before I contact the local preserved railway for help, does anyone recall the outcome of the original post please? I seem to remember that a supplier was successfully found. Since one end of the pipe has to join onto a 4 way union, it needs to be capable of being secured with a jubilee clip, which is the main reason for me not substituting hydraulic hose.

Hi CAV I had some hoses manufactured at : Halyard (M+I) Ltd Tel 01722 713700 . you will probably be redirected to another division , but they are helpful these are the people who supply most of the preserved railways . I too had investigated hydraulic hose but it is far too stiff and would have broken the fitting off at the servo motor.
Regards Peter.
