Help wanted locating 2 rear brake drums and hub bearings, The drums may be the same as a Regent III but not sure, if any one has some basic measurements that'll be useful , the hub bearings are an oddity ( to me anyway) in so much that they are parallel rollers rather than the usual taper. Hoping some out there can help. regards Peter.

I did fit a set of new parallel roller bearings to a Regal IV about six or seven years ago. The Regent III also has them, BUT not always. You will probably find that there is a gland rather than an oil seal too. It is possible to modify the arrangement. I will have a dig around for the part numbers of the parallel bearings, but it won't be quick because I'll have to trawl back through several years accounts.

Well that's a surprise,I found it quicker than expected. If you have a fully floating hub then it is probably these two. But you will need to check, however you can at least ring around the bearing factors with these numbers SKF PTLD 1132803 and 1/LRJ3.1/2M or Hoffman 770to check availability. These were £550 for the pair in November 2009. The conversion to oil seals requires 2x oil seal 120x130x13mm and a spacer made to 3.700x4.730x1.5275" You will need to check that these measurements fit your hub. There is also a felt.

If you ring Jim Shorland on 01392 494010 then he may be able to help you as he has just broken the chassis of a 1946 Regent II ex Leicester Corporation. I spoke to him today and he is willing to help you but you will probably have to collect the drums etc. from North Devon (Winkleigh).
Regards, Philip Platt
