Can anyone help me, I am trying to find some history for my AEC Mandator, PLP 656E its a two axle rigid.
The privious owner (P J Curling) told me it had been built in 1962 for an export orded but the order had been canceled. it is registed as a 1967.
I would like to find as much as possible about it so if you have any information no matter how small i would love to hear it.
This is the second AEC i have owned the last was a 1972 Reliance with a Plaxton Body it had a 691 engine and ran like a dream, this came strieght from service from a Pauls Travel in Huddersfield.
Many thanks Graham.

Wow, well it certainly crops up plenty in Google searches and has been at a few AEC rallies.

I see Peter Jarman posted a pic of it to our Yahoogroup on May 12th 2002, https://uk.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/ ... sages/3928

Sadly of course, Yahoo stripped all the attachments out of messages.

Neil Fraser's site also lists it as appearing at the 2002 rally:

If you can find the cab number that will enable me to give you a rough idea of when it was built, if you can find the chassis number then the BCVM at Leyland can tie that in with Official AEC build records.

That shouldn't be a problem the cab has a Park Royal plate inside, I will have a look but it could be a month or so before I get to do it as I am working in the Middle East for the next 4 or 5 weeks.
Thanks Graham
