Good afternoon. Ive just joined the board and thought id introduce myself. My name is Andy and I work for ESSO. For the last 5 years Ive been looking after our 1950's AEC Mammoth Major tanker. It doesnt see the light of day much which is a shame as she is a beauty! Last run out was 2009 to Netley Marsh Show though I have driven it around the terminal and up the bypass a few times since. Unfortunately its parked up in our old TMC and not road worthy. Don't worry its not been left to rot its just not taxed, insured etc. It needs a service and the brakes looking at but it starts on the button. It still looks good but the cab is suffering from terminal rot around the A pillars and under the front screens. Ive gathered a group of enthusiasts within the terminal who are keen to start a re-restoration although funds are limited. We are looking for a good ash framer in the local area..New Forest..and also any parts that we may need. We plan to show it again and give it a new lease of life...so any help would be much appreciated!!
Cheers, Andy.
