Was William Rushton in any way related to George Rushton who was Works Manager of AEC at their Walthamstow Works during the mid 1920's. In 1928 the Rushton 'General' Agricultural Tractor was manufactured by AEC to compete with the American Fordson and International Tractors that were being introduced into British Agriculture. The originals were powered by Fordson engines and with many added extras, they were marketed at £195 whereas the Fordson only cost £150.
If anybody reading this has any further knowledge of the Rushton Tractor, I would be most grateful as I am restoring one of only four known in the UK which is actually owned by George Rushton's Grand Daughter.
